Culture as Emotion: A Key Concept

At Pixelarte, we are passionate about developing projects that connect with people’s emotions, and working with the Diputació de València was an inspiring experience. On this occasion, we collaborated with SARC, an area dedicated to bringing art and culture closer to the different towns in the Comunitat Valenciana, to design a set of illustrations and a visual system that captured its social impact.

Our starting point was the main concept: “Culture is emotion.” Each form of art evokes unique feelings, such as passion in dance, nostalgia in photography, or love in poetry. This message became the guiding thread for developing a series of custom illustrations and texts that linked each discipline to its emotions, creating a coherent and captivating visual and textual narrative.

A Visual System Designed to Communicate Across Multiple Platforms

The main challenge of this project was to design a versatile visual system capable of adapting to both digital and physical formats. From posters and social media to printed materials like the iconic desk calendar distributed by SARC to local councils, every piece needed to be visually powerful and recognizable.

To achieve this, we created unique illustrations inspired by the emotions and strokes of various artistic disciplines. These illustrations not only convey the central message but also generate a visual impact that immediately resonates with viewers.
