Farmacia Corona pharmacy: brand identity, packaging and intervention in spaces
Corporate visual identity for an establishment with more than four decades of history
Farmacia Corona is a pharmacy who has been offering its services since 1973 in the historic center of Valencia (Spain). In 2017, they decided to embark on a new stage by moving to a larger location, a space surrounded by windows that gives the pharmacy greater visibility and projection. Therefore, his team wanted to count on us to renew their brand identity and implement it in this new establishment.
The pharmacy’s powerful location -in the heart of the Carmen neighbourhood- led us to combine tradition and modernity, both in the design of its new corporate identity and in the signage and labelling of the establishment itself. For example, to create its logo design we were inspired by Hygeieia’s cup, Greek goddess of Health. In addition, in its exterior lettering, we decided to take advantage of the natural mobila wood that was on the façade and applied bronze letters that emulated 19th century shop signs. Likewise, we labelled the awnings with corporate typography and designed the crystals, sealing the main doors also with the letters in gold leaf effect.
If there is something that distinguishes Farmacia Corona from other premises in the same sector, it is that they have been developing their own master formulas for more than four decades, something that inspired us to work on a new packaging line and its own labelling system for each one of its products.
As for the interior signage of the establishment, we collaborated in the interior design by creating a mobile and highly visual system, so that the posters could be changed during each time of year to promote seasonal products, and that they were perfectly visible from any point of the pharmacy. In addition, we implemented the colours and corporate graphics in the space through the interior signage, such as the timetable and the contact information panels, the counters and a series of illustrations for the children’s area, where the giraffe-shaped height meter stands out.
Finally, we applied the new corporate image also in merchandising and corporate stationery, from business cards to commercial bags and packaging of medicines. Definitely, an integral project that stands among our top successes.
