Brand identity for Metalarc
Corporate identity design for the Metalarc brand. Logo design, brand segmentation and packaging design for Oliva Iluminación.
Metalarc is the brand under which Oliva Iluminación sells designer and avant-garde LED luminaires. Located in Madrid, the company needed to renew their brand identity and packaging design in order to have a branding to match the quality of their products. For this reason, in 2018 they counted on us to give a 180 degree-turn to their corporate image.
Metalarc had a logo that had become out-dated over time and a generic packaging, something that needed to be refreshed to give the brand a personality and a vanguard in the line of minimalism that its catalogue offers. To do this, we worked on a very clean logo design, which made the brand recognizable at first sight with a plot of dots in the letters that emulated the LED lights. As for the colour palette, we chose a navy blue, orange and sand colour, tones that allowed us to play to emulate the light provided by these lights.
Once we had the logo design, we applied this corporate identity to the packaging design of their products. To do this, we created brand segmentation under two verticals, Metalarc Luminarias and Metalarc Lámparas, playing with the predominance of one colour or another in each one of them; and we used a simple and legible typeface.
In order to make their packaging memorable at the point of sale, we chose an illustration design adapted to each product, which gave the brand a distinctive and attractive graphic system. In addition, we adapted this new brand image to materials such as corporate stationery, business cards and promotional posters.
